Bacon-Wrapped Brussels Sprouts

Side view of crispy bacon-wrapped Brussels sprouts in a fork.
Bacon-wrapped Brussels sprouts are a crisp, caramelized appetizer with a glossy maple finish and a satisfying sweet-savory balance. The sprouts stay tender inside while the bacon turns golden and crunchy. They are easy to prepare, look polished on any appetizer platter, and work well for holidays, parties, and casual entertaining.

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Toothpicks

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts trimmed
  • 8 ounces thinly sliced bacon one slice per sprout
  • 2-3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400℉.
  • Cut large Brussels sprouts in half and leave smaller sprouts whole.
  • Wrap each sprout with a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  • Arrange the wrapped sprouts seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Drizzle with maple syrup and season with salt and pepper.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the bacon is crisp and the sprouts are tender, flipping halfway through for even browning.
  • Let cool for a few minutes, remove toothpicks, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Brush on a little extra maple syrup during the final 5 minutes for deeper caramelization.
  • Use center-cut bacon if you prefer less grease on the tray.
  • If your sprouts vary in size, pair similar-sized ones together for even cooking.
