Caprese skewers are an easy, no-cook appetizer made with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil layered onto skewers. Finished with a light drizzle of balsamic glaze, they come together in minutes and work well for parties, showers, and casual entertaining.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 12 cherry tomatoes
  • ½ cup mozzarella pearls
  • 24 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper or to taste

Instructions

  • Thread two mozzarella pearls onto a skewer. Add one basil leaf, folding it in half if it is large.
  • Thread one cherry tomato onto the skewer. Add another basil leaf. Finish with two more mozzarella pearls.
  • Repeat with the remaining ingredients until all skewers are assembled.
  • Arrange the skewers on a serving platter. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and season with black pepper just before serving.

Notes

  • Assemble the skewers up to a few hours ahead and refrigerate.
  • Add the balsamic glaze right before serving to keep everything fresh.
  • For the best flavor and texture, use fresh mozzarella pearls packed in water and gently pat them dry before assembling.
  • These caprese skewers are best served the same day.
