Cheesy Potato Cobbler

the square shot of one serving with the yellow jars blurred behind
Thinly sliced potatoes bake in nutmeg-spiced half and half until creamy, then get buried under a drop biscuit topping loaded with mozzarella and parmesan. It eats like scalloped potatoes with a cheesy biscuit crust, and it is the side to bring out for Sunday dinner, holiday tables, or any night a roast needs company.

Notes

Cobbler is typically thought of as a warm, delicious fruit dessert. This savory version is hot, cheesy, and the perfect comfort food addition to any dinner.
Make ahead: give the potato layer its first 20-minute bake earlier in the day, cool, and refrigerate. Mix and add the biscuit topping just before the final bake, adding 5 to 10 minutes if the potatoes are cold. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat at 350°F for 15 to 20 minutes.
